World Usability Day 2025 design jam!

Designing for a better world

Thursday, 13 November 2025, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

World Usability Day is a day to celebrate and advocate for making things work better by enhancing effectiveness, efficiency, safety or enjoyment. This year’s theme is ‘Emerging Technologies and the Human Experience’ – as AI and immersive tech redefine what’s possible, how can we keep users at the heart of it all?

Join Calgary UX and MRU’s Information Design program as we explore designing future-ready experiences that are both groundbreaking and responsible. Together, we’ll envision ways to keep people at the center of this tech-forward world!

All abilities and backgrounds are welcome in this design jam– no technical skills, existing knowledge or experience is needed!

What to know

The event will begin at 5:00 pm with time to socialize and eat. Drinks, pizza and some other snacks/sides will be provided.

The design jam will officially begin at 5:30 pm and we’ll assemble you in teams so that you can meet other members of Calgary’s usability community!

You’ll be provided with all the materials you’ll need including paper, markers, whiteboards, etc.
